- WiFi rear view camera price was so low I had to try it. - The physical setup was no different from other rear camera systems. Same level of difficulty in catching wires through trunk etc. What the manual doesn't say is that the camera needs at least a 12V power supply to power it on. Unfortunately, my car doesn't send 12V to all electrical components. My reverse lights, brake lights and running lights are powered by a less than 12V electrical system. I couldn't find a system where I could hardwire the camera, so for now I'm using a separate 12v battery to power the camera. I plan to add a kill switch so the camera can be turned on/off when the car starts/stops. The manual and documentation are very scarce. I found the app "F-Car" in the App Store (for Apple). As soon as the camera was turned on, it broadcast a Wi-Fi network (with "V-Car" in the name). My phone is connected to the V-Car WiFi network and the F-Car app displays images correctly. It appears that only (1) device can connect to the V-Car WiFi network at a time, which is probably a good thing. If I could find a wired power supply for the camera in my car that would be good. Backup camera solution for the money.
