Revainrating 3 out of 5

There were no instructions for this and the small picture in the ad is an impossible size

This was mounted on a window sill where we keep our toys Grandson. The lid is 3/4 layer and should weigh about 28 pounds. I only installed 1 cylinder. The overall length of the cylinder is 7 inches retracted and 10.5 inches fully extended. The distance between the eyes is 6 (152/4mm) when retracted and 9 5/8" (244.5mm) when fully extended. I love the concept, but there are no instructions included with my kit. On the ad page There is a small diagram from Revain showing fitting at Y=90mm and X=280mm center to center for a 90 degree opening If you calculate the hypotenuse of this it would be 294mm cylinder length from bore to need to cleat but the extended cylinder is only 244.5mm from the cleat and this ignores the 24.5mm offset to install the fixed part.I set mine with Y=90mm X about 260mm to allow for that the door doesn't stand at a 90 degree angle when open it stays open so I only used 1 cylinder as the piston doesn't really matter at 20 degrees the lid still slams as it tries to close approaching as the piston is then fully retracted and sic h simply rotates in a fixed position. appropriate, but not as much as if you had nothing. Overall this only partially solved my problem, the lid stayed open but still closed too quickly if you let go while closing.
