Decent radio for radio

I am very interested in weather radio and have a collection of it. I have several Midland radios including the WR120, Wr300, HH50 and HH54VP. We don't get a lot of severe weather around here in the Boston area, but I think it's still a good idea to have a weather radio, especially during all those snowstorms. When I found out about the WR400 I decided to order it as I liked my WR300. I received the WR400 on March 26th and it's a pretty good radio. The speaker quality is much better than the WR300 and very clean. Since I have very poor vision, I can also see the screen a little better. However, I am also a bit disappointed with this radio. Probably my biggest criticism of this radio is that the siren is not adjustable. It's too loud, almost as loud as my WR120. I liked the ability to turn it off on the WR300 and am very upset that this feature is not included in this new radio. I don't have to get up due to the blizzard warning, but I would like to know that this is happening. I understand that these radios need to be loud, especially for tornadoes, but some may not need or want them to be that loud. I really hope this can be changed in a software update. Haven't gotten any alerts from this radio yet but I'm sure it will work great as my other Midlands have been very reliable. Overall, this is a very good weather radio, but it could be better. As I can't give half stars I'm giving this radio 4 stars but I would give it 3.5 if I could. Please Midland improve this radio and I will definitely give it 5 stars.
