It is highly recommended to use a double bladed paddle with your SUP in windy conditions as one blade will not work. It's a regular paddle, I gave fewer stars because the mechanism to switch from single blade to double blade, which is a nice feature, requires a screwdriver and not a locking mechanism, which is silly. So instead I take two paddles, one blade and one set up as a double paddle, which is difficult to use but ultimately necessary for safety and comfort. Also, I have to use it while seated as it's not long enough to use with the Dual Blade from a standing position. You can get just a paddle for a kayak with the same success. I'm new to a recreational SUPER that was pretty easy to use on the lakes and it worked fine for that.
