Review on πŸ“½οΈ Elite Screens Spectrum2 100-inch 16:9 Electric Motorized Drop Down Projector Screen - SPM100H-E12: Review, Price, and Features by David Alexander

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Broken plastic and some waves but overall very good.

I bought the 125" version with Spectrum Tension Liner. First the negatives. The screen has multiple ripples at the bottom after being pulled down. I quickly found that if I pinched my fingers around the bottom edge on either side of the screen and slid my fingers sideways a few times, the ripples disappeared. This would be a deal breaker if I didn't find an easy fix. Once you've seen them, you can't lose sight of them. It's annoying to do it every time, but it's not the end of the world. The weight at the bottom of the screen, which looks like a long metal bar in a plastic case, is believed to have punctured the plastic holding it on either end. during transport, while at the end it presses on the plastic with its height and all its weight (lead?). Relatively minor as it will never lie on its side once you have it installed you will never notice it but the plastic seemed quite brittle from breaking lots of small pieces. The plastic has broken on one side of the tensioner so I can't adjust the tension on one side. This happened when I installed the tool just to see how it works and had no intention of tweaking it. I have already tested the other side without any problems. The brittle plastic gave immediately and the spring loosened the entire assembly and I can no longer adjust that side, luckily the tension is still there and I don't feel the need to change it. As I learn more about home theater and fine-tuning, I might want to tweak it, but I won't be able to :-(Normally I would definitely return it for another with these issues, but its massive size and logistics I'm of it Assuming participating in these will make me happy as they don't detract from the viewing experience at all Now for the pros I've never owned screens before so I wasn't sure what to expect and I have nothing to However, I was very impressed with the quality of the screen minus the plastic on the bottom. Comes with IR remote and RF remote with 3.5mm connector to trigger auto open and close. Also, it comes with a wired one switch and an IR receiver Many of these accessories would be the extras you would need to buy so I was very impressed that they all mi The wired push button switch appears to have an IR receiver window but it does nothing. Well, it would be a great feature to use as such, but the auto trigger suits me. Center channel lets the sound pass through fairly well, but that doesn't mean there's no screen when viewed up close. You sit and don't notice. You may want to set the center channel output a bit higher if it's behind the screen. Installing the ceiling was a simple task, the metal is very strong, although I wouldn't use the drywall screws provided, they were pretty pathetic but irrelevant to most people who will always choose the best mounting option. The picture quality is excellent. The screen material is of very good quality and I like the black bezels. I set the screen a little higher and showed less black border at the top, which was easy. Overall I really like the screen, it's impressive and does its job well. I wish I didn't have broken plastic issues and shafts, but it's all solvable. I would give 2 stars given the issues but it's really wrong not to give at least 3. Without problems it would undoubtedly be 5.
