We had to order three sizes. Our 3 1/2 year old son normally wears 3T in his underwear. We had to get X - Big so it's not too tight around his waist It might fit your child but for our boy (who is not overweight but is tall for his age - 40" tall and about 40lbs) we had to order two sizes up. He LOVES it his "boxing underwear" though! He wanted it to match his dad and he is so happy with it! They are made of soft material, good quality and no logos or prints all over the place. Hope your kid will love them too! :)
