Review on Plantronics 38541 02 Headset Cable by Kate Gagnon

Just received this cable to connect my new Plantronics Encore HW 540 headset to my iPhone 6. The cable broke the first time it was used. My iPhone 6 would not end a call unless the cable caused the phone to disconnect. The 3.5mm plug apparently triggers random stop and start calls, randomly starts and stops music, and launches Siri without warning. This even happens when the iPhone is on the table and I'm not moving. This is a disaster rendering both the jack and my headset completely unusable with my iPhone. The seller doesn't offer a replacement so I'll check with Plantronics to see if they honor their warranty.
