Love them but won't rate durability because I've only just received them, just put them together although I have no idea how long they will last ! Got "new" because yes, the lid works great when using hanging files, railing included. I don't understand the previous review explaining how fragile they are due to the fabric bottom. Yes, there's a fabric bottom, but there's also a rigid bottom insert that you place on top of the fabric that supports the entire storage box. I have read in other reviews that these boxes are very durable, one person even commented that the boxes are great for his comics!
