But in addition you can control the degree of the curl as the wand is thin so it is less apt to push the edges into the curl although this requires experience to master. The coating on the outside of the wand protects your fingers when you want to squeeze the end to ensure an even application. It was a worthwhile investment. My hair is fine, overworked and tends to get frizzy with age. I can't just blow dry and walk away anymore. A good iron is everything.
