Be careful when tightening the screws!

I bought this clasp to replace a missing one and it goes with my other clasps. I mounted it on a carpeted trunk lid. I couldn't tighten the screws enough that the entire latch would not rotate when locking/unlocking. When tightening the screws to prevent the entire bolt from turning, the plastic ring through which the screws were guided broke off. So be careful with this when trying to tighten the screws or you'll find yourself like me with $38. Of course, Perko testing has shown this to be a problem when installed on carpet.
