Measure and make sure the hole diameter is the same

Good product at a fair price Works well But I didn't think to measure the hole diameter on my boat so it works doesn't quite fit, but I got it working

Be careful when tightening the screws!

I bought this clasp to replace a missing one and it goes with my other clasps. I mounted it on a carpeted trunk lid. I couldn't tighten the screws enough that the entire latch would not rotate when locking/unlocking. When tightening the screws to prevent the entire bolt from turning, the plastic ring through which the screws were guided broke off. So be careful with this when trying to tighten the screws or you'll find yourself like me with $38. Of course, Perko testing has shown this to be aโ€ฆ

Plastic can break well for equipment

Broken during installation. It's plastic, and by simply tightening the screws on the metal base plate, the top flange (the plastic flange) popped out and broke with little effort. The base plate is metal and the top plastic flanges don't hold up. Maybe I overdid it? I would have guessed that as there was no plastic failure mentioned or warned in the instructions. In fact, there are almost no words on it, just a diagram. So now I have a 2 inch hole in my boat hatch. I think I'll have to search a
