Excellent padding, very light and comfortable, I use it for BMX, I had a bad accident while riding and I hit so hard the pads left a honeycomb pattern on my skin. I had 2 broken ribs and a collapsed lung. I have no doubt that my injuries would have been worse if I hadn't been wearing these pads. I've also had hard external pads on my head, elbows and knees, but my hips and thighs just rise. If you're into extreme things like skiing, mountain biking, snowboarding, and ice skating, you need to get this. You can't even tell you're wearing shorts and shoulder pads give away a soft shirt, but who cares what people think or say when your body and organs are at stake. My only complaint is that I ordered them as a combo set and the shorts are a little big and fall down and the shirt was a bit tight. I would order them again.
