This coupling pin, like all coupling pins

I've had this unit for a year, I've used it maybe 10 times and the locking head came loose when I barely hit the hitch on my 5x10 trailer. This clutch pin, like all clutch pins, can slide from side to side, but the problem with this device is that when the device slides all the way to the locking end, pressure can be applied to the weakest part of the clutch pin, where the shaft cone is for the locking mechanism. that's about 1/3 the diameter of the hitch pin. This is a very STUPID design that could easily be fixed with proper testing. If the lock barrel was 1/4 inch longer internally, this would never happen as all the force would be on the full diameter clutch pin section.

Pros
  • , can slide from side to side.
Cons
  • Overall ok but...
