These J-brackets worked fine. It is easy to assemble and quick to attach to the car. They even stayed with the kayaks when the car's crossbars broke and flew away at 80 miles per hour. (Bar break not related to J-Brackets). In fact, only one of the four mounts was damaged. He couldn't bear to be shoved under a Camry and driven half a mile down the freeway. 1 star removed because one set of brackets did not have a stamped square hole to attach the carriage bolts.
