These J-brackets worked fine. It is easy to assemble and quick to attach to the car. They even stayed with the kayaks when the car's crossbars broke and flew away at 80 miles per hour. To be honest for a cheap pair of kayak roof racks they work flawlessly. The instructions are pretty simple. Some of the bolt holes do not line up perfectly and the bolts are a bit too long.
