The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was a few rust spots on some of the pipes. They were small enough that I figured I could tweak them and stop them from spreading any further. Second, it was supposed to come with four straps, and only three straps came with it. Carriage bolts are complete slag. Of the 24 screws, 16 are missing threads and the existing threads are shallow and do not meet quality control requirements. So I decided to buy good hardware ($25) and assemble it. I parked my wife's 48 lb kayak there for a test landing. He was on the 4runner less than 30 minutes and two of the pads got punctured by their little kayak. Then when I tried to buckle it, the bars bent like hangers. After all, that was my sign. I tried my best to get them working. But in the end it's absolute crap. Buy something else.
