Review on πŸ”₯ 010148 T25/T28 Titanium Turbo Shield - Custom Fit Turbo Blanket for Internal Wastegate Turbos, Size 19" x 2.5 by Brian Whitmore

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Keep your Turbo warm when it's cold outside!

Very well made product as far as I can tell, much thicker than I thought it would be and appears to have very thick quality stitching. The wire is quite stiff and appears to be SS. I use DEI products and have been a fan of theirs for many years and am currently using several of their other heat controls in the application this was to come in (Volvo P2 S60 2.3 T5). Here's the thing, I replaced the stock 16T with a 19T and it just doesn't fit. The GT22's screen is too big to fit on the hot side of the TD04HL. Unfortunately this is the smallest unit they make so I had no luck with the comforter. I just can't see any other brand that I 1) feel good about, 2) won't burn my car to the core, or 3) just fall apart in a few months. Not the end of the world, the hot side is already covered with a cape, I knew it would be hat on hat, but more warmth in the compartment is always good. So why give 5 stars? Well it's obviously very well made (it annoys me that I can't use it) and it's not DEI's fault it doesn't fit, the TD04's hot side is too dim for the GT22's screen. I used their duvet on a t3/04b and it fitted perfectly so it's not a design issue. Too bad for me, but for those with a hot side to match, I'd even say it's worth every penny. I use their Ti film and it's great, but that's another review. FYI, yes of course you can take it off if you need to service the turbo, but be aware that once you start heating it will become brittle, not a defect but a material. So plan ahead and slip this pup on when you're done with all the hassle so you don't have to take it off once it's installed (and fully temperature cycled). Take it how you want, it's just my 2 bits.
