I've always replaced the hoses as soon as I found a leak. But during the pandemic, when there weren't enough pipes, I tried my hand at patching. First inner tube for my children's bike. Then my neighbor's children. And my bike didn't have a leak from the hose itself. It was a valve. I think I roughed it up with my air pump and must have bent it. I didn't know what replacement tube cores are (you should check youtube) but when I found out that I was checking if my tube was indeed "replaceable core" I searched and ordered this product. Changing the valve on my 29er mountain bike took about 1.5 minutes. Beats the 15-25 minutes I usually spend changing tubes. And these valves are very inexpensive. Good thing. It's definitely worth considering a repair option. Because time, money and the environment. Unless the hose is old or flat.
