Like many people lately, I decided to take stock of my current survival supplies. There's usually enough firewood and tinder, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to look for something that's easier to toss in a backpack. Enter Skoped Pyro Putty. I read the reviews, watched the tutorials and decided that for the price of a pyro putty and a plasma lighter it was worth tossing the dice. Also, the company seemed responsive so I wasn't too concerned if I needed a refund. However, no refund is required. I scooped up some putty, placed it on the tip of a knife and lit sparks. The putty (I have a blue winter mix and it was just under 60F outside) caught fire and caught fire quickly. I only used a small amount so it only took a minute, but it gave me peace of mind that the product would light up when needed. I hope I never need Pyro Putty in a SHTF situation, but I'm glad to have it just in case.
