Does a good job of chopping limited ingredients, dense foods like carrots or tomatoes don't cut easily.

The bowl is big, strong and thick, frosted inside to keep the food in place when you try to cut it with a rounded hand blade. Greens separately are tiring, I prefer to cut them on the board and carry them to the bowl. It's best to add lots of ingredients and then roughly chop them up for a simple salad. The blade is not very sharp, it is designed for rough cuts. I also find it helpful to roughly chop some boiled potatoes for frying at home, as well as roughly chop boiled eggs for egg salad. It doesn't work for denser foods like meat. Cutting onions or small things is also more tedious. It's actually a good heavy bowl for kneading flour, but since the surface is matte, flour sticks to it. Another use that comes to mind is cutting butter into baking flour. It kind of works for chopping garlic and ginger and you don't have to hold them so there's less chance of cutting yourself, but it's just easier for me to use a sharp knife as I'm really good at chopping. I think if I'm chopping up a very large batch of ginger and garlic for a party, this might come in handy when I don't want to get my little chopper out.
