I loved this French Press but after a few weeks of use I stopped using it. This makes great French press coffee, with no coffee grounds or residue in your cup. The problem is that cleaning takes too long. The filters prevent the residual liquid from draining off, so it is not possible to simply empty the coffee grounds. When you pull the plunger out, a lot of thickness sticks to it. You have to knock off both filters, clean and rinse to clean them. The carafe is deep and you need to drain as much of the remaining liquid as possible to clean the coffee grounds. I'm trying to compost, but I find it very dirty to put soil in the bin, so I chose trash. It takes a few minutes to scrape off, then I have to flush away the residue that ends up going down the drain. After all is said and done I've used a lot of water and time and still in the sink there's dirt on the countertop that needs cleaning. I return to my filtered stream.
