The cable works as promised. A WARNING, HOWEVER. I didn't know this so can't blame the cable, but you can't convert DVI-I to DVI-D by simply removing the four pins surrounding the larger pin. Those four pins carry an analog signal, so it won't work. So if you have an application that requires DVI-D to VGA (e.g. using a Lenovo Thinkpad Dock for a VGA monitor) this cable will not work.
