Honestly, this is top notch. The plaid skirt is made of high quality material; not the kind of nylon material that wears out easily. The bodice is made of a pleasantly dense felt material of the highest quality. All the embellishments are just gorgeous, and the attention to subtle detail: the eyelet drawstring completely outlines the arms, neck and hem of the skirt and is a very nice touch of high quality. I am really surprised that this dress was so affordable as it is of very high quality. The only thing I would like is a full Velcro closure. There are 3 buttons on the chest. Good for some, but I have a motile worm. ;). As far as it suits me, I have 10# Shih Tzu, short body. short arms and legs, but the weight rests mainly on the middle. It fitted well, but had little wiggle room. So if your dog is on the fat side of his belly, I would really stick to the measuring guide. Her chest is about 16 1/2. I ordered Wednesday. The beauty of this dress is that it is so unique and extraordinary that your dog cannot see you from across the room. ;)
