Ideal for replacing an existing ball catch on a cheap pantry door. Much better quality than what I replaced. The insert, which screws into the cylinder that you insert into the hole at the top of the door, is tapered at the top to prevent the ball from falling out completely under the action of the spring at the bottom. On the old one, that metal was very thin, and the bullet ended up flying when we opened the door. After bending it several times it finally broke and we bought this replacement. Because of the thickness and build quality, I think this one will last a lot longer!
