Updated: When they arrived I had high hopes for a decently shaped finish as the box didn't rattle at all. As soon as I opened it I was immediately disappointed. They were all embedded in a foam block that held them in place well, but there was nothing between the screw surface and the cardboard to protect them other than thin tissue paper, so 1/4 of them had chipped off. The black finish doesn't look very elegant, but it's decent for the price. It's somewhere between matte and semi-gloss, but looks like it was hand-painted. The screw itself seems to be made well enough that it does what it's supposed to do. If you want a nice shiny smooth bolt look elsewhere, but if you just want one that does what it's supposed to do, it will. I returned the first set due to chipping. The second set was significantly better.
