My 118lb Newf tore her right cruciate ligament just months after she had a problem with her left leg. She eventually required TPLO surgery on her right leg and was diagnosed with a partial tear in her left leg at the same time. First we wrapped a towel under her to make sure she didn't overload her left leg and couldn't use her right. She was unable to stand up on her own for the first few days after the operation and even trying to lift herself up was too strenuous, so it took several tries and a lot of effort for the dog and her to get the towel all the way down and pick her up. Person. We could just leave her on a leash. This support system was a real discovery. My little girl is 2 weeks post surgery and we are still using braces to protect her left sacroiliac area. I may not be able to keep it on him, but it still helps me pick him up much easier than with a towel.
