Alarm Useless: Aquarium Thermometer

This thermometer measures the temperature of the outside air and the water in the aquarium. However, you can only set one high and one low temperature for the alarm. This means an alarm will sound when a high or low temperature is reached - outside or inside the aquarium. My home's temperature varies much more than the narrow range for my aquarium. This meant the alarm would sound even if the water temperature was correct. If I wanted to measure the temperature of my house, I would buy a thermostat. I want an aquarium thermometer that measures the water temperature. Unfortunately, this device tries to be both but fails to do so.
