Make sure you choose Shure!

This Shure Podium mic couldn't be more fun. We bought the 12" version of the neck instead of the 18" as the longer version would probably be too close to the preacher for this particular pulpit. We bought it to start a live broadcast of a church service and didn't have a sound system. There is other background noise during service and this mic does an excellent job with just the speaker. Sounds great through the mixer and on YouTube. There is a more expensive Shure podium mic ($200+) and I hesitated if that would be the best choice, but this one is half the price and works very, very well. A NOTICE. This mic came with a plastic Shure mount, but it's definitely not a "shock mount". Do yourself a favor and buy an Audio-Technica AT8646QM Microphone Butt Plate. It costs about $60 (also available from Revain), but it isolates the mic from any finger taps, page turns (or lectern bang!) that might happen and makes this mic that much better.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No power
