Review on πŸ”Œ Carter P4389: Finding Optimal Performance with In-Line Electric Fuel Pump by Wayne Martin

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Disappointing quality.

I went through 3 of these and none of them held up to the pressure advertised. Number 1 was 7.5psi which flooded my Edelbrock carburetor. The numbers 2 and 3 equal 3 psi. I couldn't tell if my bad problems were due to the carburetor or fuel pressure. The volume seems adequate even at 3psi, but caused a lot of heartbreak. Also, wire connectors are the cheapest things I've ever seen. Not only is there no indication of which end is the positive (which is very important as the pump will reverse direction if connected incorrectly), but they just push the terminals a little. There is no way to establish a secure connection. For the first time in a boat, one of the connectors fell off after encountering some sort of slash. It took me a while to understand what had happened.
