Review on SALON TECH Titanium Flat Iron by Nicole Walker

I've had this iron for 1.5 years now. It was surprising until recently that the cord connection at the base of the iron seemed to be loose. Now the iron turns on/off when I move the cord a little. I have contacted the manufacturer but I suspect they will not do anything as this is beyond the 1 year warranty. My next step is to try and fix it myself. I expected the iron to last more than 1.5 years considering the price and the fact that it has to be professional quality. Update: The manufacturer cannot help as the warranty is only 1 year. They don't help with repairs because. They say their manufacturer is in Korea. They also pointed out that by purchasing this item from an unauthorized seller I essentially bought the product "as is" and took the risk.
