Review on Protective Key Fob Cover for Chevy Suburban Tahoe Traverse & GMC Yukon XL - Remote Replacement Case Shell for Keyless Entry by Nick Atkinson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Inexpensive repair of a factory defective case

Replacing the back cover is what I was looking for, not the entire case. As you can see in photo number one, in an effort to cut costs, GM removed the PCB battery holder and instead used the back of the key fob as the battery holder. Really bad design because the back of the case has a stress defect and will crack for no reason. Once the back is cracked, the key fob will no longer work. The second photo shows the old back of the key fob. The third picture shows how the crack starts. This problem started less than a year after purchasing our traverse on my keychain and my wife's keychain. After looking at the new backs, they seem more substantial, even if they are post-sale. I had no problem attaching the new one to the old case and the key fob worked great.
