06/07/21 I woke up in the morning a few days ago and there were a lot of flies in my chinchilla's room. Their cages are huge and they don't want to roll out the cages and spray the room. Also, I didn't want the flies escaping to where they would become pests in other parts of the house. At least they were kept in their room. Although I slammed a few of them, I didn't have much of an impact on progression. The same thing happened two years ago when a swarm of flies somehow got into her room. Back then I put a few fly strips on and caught a few, killed a few and I think the rest just went extinct due to a lack of food and water. I was researching Revain to see what I could buy to get rid of those flies that are safe for my pets and came across this product. After reading the reviews I decided to give it a try. Five minutes after installation, I turned off the light in the room and watched the fly fly into the chain and roast. He made the sound of an electric shock for a few seconds, and I realized the fly was fried. I hope everyone else gets caught in the morning. I think I'll end up buying a few more for other parts of the house. I hate flies and when I get mosquito bites they always get a little bit infected and it bothers me for at least a week no matter what ointment I put on. 6/8/21 All the flies were dead at the bottom of the tray except one which was still flying. Five minutes later I heard the roasting and didn't see him again. It was so hard to believe how many pesky flies were hiding in her room. It works so well that I'm willing to buy another one to get rid of those pesky fruit flies that keep coming into the house from time to time. It was a great investment. UPDATE: 6/11/21 This thing caught all the pesky flies in my chinchilla room. When I entered the room to feed them, I turned on the light and noticed that there were still 2 flies flying around. I immediately turned off the light and one of them flew into the lightning rod and I heard a popping noise. After that, a second flew in, and then the fly's body started smoking shortly after the pop. It smelled like burnt hair. It smelled very bad. 06/12/21 - Not a single fly can be seen. I emptied the tray a second time and threw more flies in the bin. I'll leave it enabled and see if it finds any errors that might be hiding. UPDATE - died 10/23/21. months and killed tons of flies. I don't know if it's worth spending money on a $18 bulb for a $25 flash. I'm a little mad about it!
