Review on Electric Assembly Replacement Chevrolet Cadillac by George Walker

Revainrating 1 out of 5

A flexible plastic fuel line ruptured within a 20 mile radius. I had to pull the pump out and replace it with a rubber pump to get home.

This pump looked exactly like any other Chinese pump I have ever installed and it was not a DOA. However, the flexible plastic tubing connecting the real pump to the assembly broke within 20 miles and broke leaving my wife stranded. Thank goodness I had a set of reinforced rubber TOC 265psi 3/8 in the tool box that I keep at Denali with fuel injection type clamps. I was able to limp home after spending over an hour getting the pump out (again). I was so angry I would have thrown it in the trash but didn't want to pay for towing. The old pump was from 2011 and had intermittent problems and the filters in the tank were dirty, but the 8 year old plastic flex was in perfect condition. in summary. what is POS. DO NOT waste your time with this pump. It is NOT high performance as the name might suggest. This is a standard CHINA pump from ECCPP, which other suppliers sell at a lower price anyway. If you are looking for a cheap ECCPP E3508M pump, it is not sold elsewhere as "High Performance" and has no price markup. For those wandering around, my fuel pressure regulator is set at 63psi, and a 2011 pump that looks almost identical but is sold by Airtex has been running at that pressure on a standard plastic flex line for years. The line was also stained with a yellow tint at the break, but that wasn't there originally. I used 93 octane Sunoco fuel and when I did, the tank was full. I have a tuned and forced air/CAI system on the truck so I use that all the time and yes it contains up to 10% ethanol but no E85 as my truck is not compatible with this year's model. And I wouldn't use it. . I will ask for a refund and buy another pump. I would have used a Walbro 255 if I hadn't recently had problems with the fuel gauge under a quarter of a tank. One of the wipers on the old pump's rheostat was worn out. Maybe I'll just order a Walbro 255 and have it assembled. I'm too excited to decide today.
