Review on 🌬️ AC Infinity CLOUDPLATE T1-N: Rack Mount Fan Panel 1U for Optimal Intake Airflow – Ideal for Cooling AV, Home Theater, and Network 19” Racks by William Hood

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great new features and airflow, but bearing noise and lack of hysteresis are still an issue.

This is my second purchase of an AC Infinity rack fan. I'm glad to see that they've incorporated feedback from previous years to now have both inlet and outlet installation options. (I had to disassemble the fan by hand in my old unit). The new buffer function helps to avoid the rapid on/off switching (in automatic mode) of previous models. Unfortunately, this doesn't help much in Smart Mode, since the fan quickly accelerates to a certain temperature regardless of the buffer setting. and lowering would be ideal. High bearing noise is also still a problem. There seems to be two peaks at 10kHz and 20kHz that occur at all speed settings. Maybe not everyone can hear it, but to me they are very noticeable. I would welcome options for a maglev fan or acoustic baffles to remove or reduce this noise.

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
  • Too long to wait
