Poor quality and connection issues

After my previous keyboard broke, I decided to try another company. I will not return to this product if this keyboard breaks. Due to the current issues, the keyboard might not even break before I replace it. Problems: 1. The whole case and the keyboard are made of thin plastic. When lifting the 12.9-inch iPad from the keyboard side, the keyboard gives way under the weight. I have no doubt that this keyboard will break if dropped or just with normal use. The connection is terrible. Keyboard keeps disconnecting from iPad. This is supposed to extend battery life, but even after the iPad has gone to sleep for 5 minutes, connecting the keyboard can be problematic. If the keys are pressed too many times, the keyboard seems to go into lock mode and not connect at all. Normally, if you unlock your iPad and then press the keys on your keyboard a few times, it will connect. If the keyboard doesn't connect, you must power cycle the keyboard before it reconnects. My previous keyboard also disconnected to save battery, but reconnected by pressing the key multiple times, after which it woke up. iPad and allow it to unlock without touching the iPad screen. It also stayed connected longer after the iPad went to sleep, so if the screen went black, just waking it up using the keyboard.3. The backlit keyboard is not automatic. When you start typing, it doesn't light up. Instead, you should turn on the keyboard backlight. Pros: 1. The keyboard has a pencil case that holds the Apple Pencil more securely than just the iPad's magnetic holder.2. The hinge between the keyboard and the iPad works well. It stays as installed at different angles without slipping. The pivoting hinge is also handy in that it allows the iPad to go into "laptop" mode for easier typing without removing the case. The jury is still out: 1. Trackpad. The trackpad is not quite suitable for my needs. It's not that it doesn't work, but it seems to have real value in terms of functionality. I don't see that as a plus or minus as maybe that will change over time and the trackpad functionality will improve. I don't currently use it for most of my work.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
