worked several times, now won't turn on/off

Bought for my son's bike. Shortly after installing it told me it wouldn't turn on. I thought it just died but after charging it turned on but wouldn't turn off again. I guess that's why he was dead! It's not very useful to have a light that you can't reliably turn on and off.
