This was a replacement grater after my last manual plastic grater broke into pieces. It feels very solid when assembled and attached to the countertop. I was able to quickly grate an entire block of cheese after dicing it on the countertop. The long crank allows more torque to be applied and makes slicing/cutting easier. Problems: Except for the cut surfaces, it is completely made of plastic. I hope this product is built to last for many years. Also, there is a cavity in the clear plastic part of the assembly that fills with water when washed in the dishwasher. Luckily there is a lid over this cavity that can be removed to empty it. I am concerned about how many remove/install cycles this cover may last. I think there should be a drain hole in that emptiness.
