I wish it had instructions, but I'm not exactly a hardware genius.

Ok when you do this grab the flat part from behind and start twisting the middle wire part. Eventually the wire will detach from the plate and you can screw the plate to the wall with the screw provided. Then you put the piece of wire back on the plate and start twisting it again and the end of the wire slides over the plate. It took me a few to figure it out but when put together it looks very nice and feels good and solid.
