I think these fins can be a bit stiff for beginners. I am a professional swimmer and have been using training fins for years. It's very fast if you have the power to use it. Something more flexible might be better for those who want to carry things a little more easily in the water. The size is pretty accurate. Under the fins it says 41-42 EU and 7-8 UK. At Revain they are equal to 8-8.5 US which is about right. They do dangle a bit if anything, but that's not a problem. If necessary, you can always use a very thin diving sock.
