I got this thinking it would be good for sifting pine pellets. Do you know how pellets turn into sawdust when wet? Some litter boxes are designed so that the dirty sawdust settles to the bottom and you then just pick up the poo and the undamaged pellets stay there to be used, so they don't get thrown away unnecessarily. In any case, the holes in the sieve are too large, so most of the granules fall through. I imagine this works well with other types of cat litter. I ended up just not using a screen and using it like a regular cat crate.
