Recommended Leonite Microwave Motion Sensor
I first tried a $90 passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor on the driveway, but it wasn't weatherproof and unreliable compared to Leonite's radar technology. It even detects people walking in the driveway, but then I think deer can activate it the same way a PIR motion sensor would, so you might get false positives if you just want to detect vehicles. I like the fact that it was designed to illuminate industrial halls. The instructions are sufficient if you also read user questions and answers. Update 2021: I have 5 of these now!
