The LCD is fine but uses a different pinout than the Arduino library example. Corrected values: (LiquidCrystal lcd(8,9,4,5,6,7); . Pin 10 is used for the backlight of the LCD. Out of the box I found that the display was too bright and the LED gave off a lot of heat. I installed pin 10 on PWM with a value of 100 and now the build is running much cooler. The shield switches have some weird resistance values.I get analog readings, nothing down=1025,right=25,up=141,down=326 , left=502, select=739 Three things I don't like: 1. Bad soldering The corner mounting holes on the LCD board do not line up with the holes on the shield below as the LCD board compares to the screen by about 1 2 degrees counter-clockwise. The contrast case is almost flush with the top of the LCD, making it difficult to fit into the frame. I'll likely fall out and dislodge it the other side of the board 3.Reset the button on the Sign is next to the "rec hten" button, so a fat finger presses and he sat loosens. So far there are no problems with Megaboard.
