Yet, despite the fact that the disk was not touched, suddenly macOS displayed a notification concerning the improper ejection of the disk. Nothing resulted from the pushing. The system did not recognize the disk. The disk utility then noticed it a few times but was powerless to act against it. The disk is essentially dead.
