Review on Seafood Sheller and Heavy Zinc Alloy Nutcracker - Nut Crackers Chestnut Opener Pecan Walnut Plier Clip Tool with Good Grips for Kitchen Utensils by Joyce Swihart

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Solid, classic but not fancy design

The flapper is very durable and well polished, well finished. In fact, the classic design of this type makes it difficult to use. The front pivot range is too tight, forcing the handle to open too far to get the nuts in place. This makes it difficult to grab the nuts and crack them open with force. The larger hole is closer to the center of the cracker and this leaves very little leverage for power. Ordinary walnuts are easy to open, hazelnuts fit the smaller front opening and are easy to open. If the nuts are big and tough, like Brazil nuts, it won't be easy no matter how strong the tool is.

Pros
  • Home & Kitchen
Cons
  • Good but not great
