These oven mitts are not intended for grilling or oven use (other than removing pans from the oven). They protect your fingers and reach about halfway down the back of the hand - not suitable for a high temperature area. BUT for a toaster, air fryer or pots and pans this is a real surprise. They're easy to use - just stick your fingers in and don't have to worry about extra stuff getting into your food. The parts of your hands that actually touch the pot, pan, rack, etc. are protected and have a good grip. I was hesitant to buy a pair but was very glad I did. My wife also gives them a thumbs up.
