It does what it says on the tin and I've had very few issues with it. The only exception is that the drive I'm using, the 1TB Crucial MX500 model, gets hotter than other M.2 SSDs, and the sealed case I got boils this SSD up quickly. It is not uncommon for the temperature in a sealed enclosure to rise above safe limits. Right now it's hanging out in the open via a USB 3.0 cable and bridge and I'm doing large file transfers and it's running in 68 degrees Celsius. I used to use it as a system drive on my desktop, and under load it would regularly go over 75, even when the fans were blowing on it (and around 45 or 50 when idle, which isn't normal for an SSD). So as the name suggests. , the adapter itself is reasonably reliable, but if you're using a Crucial drive, you'll want to get an outdoor version of this adapter (and you'll probably want to add a heatsink to the SSD while you're at it).
