Review on Moen 145058 Replacement Converts Standard by Marcus Curry

This part was exactly what I needed to install my new shower enclosure. My original shower valve was installed 18 years ago with a standard Moen valve. You can control the volume (the knob goes in and out) and the temperature (by turning the knob right or left). I wanted to replace the trim kit without changing the valving. You need Moenttrol (not Positemp) and with this adapter you can do it. My issue was that the plumber who originally installed our shower placed the tile so close to the valve stem that the adapter was over the tile and the trim was no longer flush with the shower screen. I very carefully used a dremel to grind the side of the tile into an arc on either side of the rod to accommodate the adapter so it would sit flush with the tile. Then the case fits perfectly. A bit of extra work but worth not redoing the shower tile!
