Review on ๐Ÿšด High-performance Park Tool PolyLube 1000 Bicycle Grease: Enhance Bike Maintenance with Long-lasting Lubrication by Marcus Cano

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good heavy grease best in cycling

As the name suggests this Polylube 1000 is a fairly heavy grease. he is fat You don't use any lubricant to lubricate chains and other things - you use a special high-viscosity grease or regular lubricating oil for this. Don't rate a product because you don't know what you're buying. I used a mixture of mineral spirits, water, and detergent to clean and re-grease my bike's dirty bearings and crank. It's a thick paste with a nice blue-green color and it's great for bearings because it's thick enough to hold them in place when you insert the little bearings so they don't fall out, but it's greasy. It is enough that they are perfectly lubricated when they start rotating. My wheels turned much better after applying this stuff. It's not revolutionary, but it's a hefty amount for a good price. You could probably service ten bikes with a tube, or just one bike for a few years depending on how often you bother to re-grease your internals. This material is also great for lubricating some things inside the frame. You can rub the sides of the seat tube a little, or especially lubricate the internal bolts and nuts in the steering column to protect them from corrosion (be very careful when applying lube to the steering column!), which can cause serious pain if you ever try to install a new fork. I wouldn't use this for external bolts like the rear or front axle because that stuff will stay in there forever and pick up all kinds of dirt and debris. Save those things for light oil.
