OK This is an outdoor light but I put it in the hallway. A corridor connects the living/dining room with the master bedroom. There are stucco moldings in all rooms and in the hallway. The dining room has paneling and I wanted a hallway ceiling light that would complement the casualness of the wall paneling with the formality of the crown molding without competing with the dining room's antique gold chandelier. That's exactly what I wanted. And yes, you can install an outdoor light indoors, but remember - DO NOT install an indoor light outdoors! This light comes with a thick, heavy frosted glass insert and insulation on top of the light to protect the wires from the outside environment. It will be a great addition to the porch ceiling.
