The light is very easy to install. I didn't want to spend $40 on black, so I bought a fake rust paint, took it apart, taped off everything I didn't want to paint, and then applied 2 coats of black spray paint. I let it dry for a few days and then put it down. Looks a lot better than the factory paint and the paint I applied will probably last longer. If you are traveling cheap or on a budget this is for you!

We bought these to replace the ugly brass fixtures in the hallway. They are much better and well made too! One thing to note: when installing, make sure the bulb itself is facing YOU, which means that; We didn't pay attention to the direction when we installed ours, but when the light is on we can see the back of the bulb/socket (as a dark spot/shadow) from within the glass portion. It looks way better with the bulb facing you instead of the dark spot on your flashlight. Hope that makes sense!

This is a beautiful, durable light. It was easy to install and the only issue I had was the power outlet. I screwed in the bulb before installing the flashlight to make sure it would fit, which it did, but it was impossible to pull out. OK This is an outdoor light but I put it in the hallway. A corridor connects the living/dining room with the master bedroom. There are stucco moldings in all rooms and in the hallway.
